What it is
High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) lifts and firms the jawline, brow, cheeks and neck without cutting the skin.
How it works
Ultrasound energy is focused into tiny points at set depths (about 1.5, 3 and 4.5 mm), reaching the same support layer a surgeon lifts in a facelift. The heat contracts tissue and starts months of new collagen production.
Focused ultrasound works in the highlighted layers.
Best for
- Softening jowls and the jawline
- Lifting the brow
- Early loosening of the neck
What it feels like
Deep prickling or heat pulses, strongest over bony areas. Each pulse lasts a second.
Downtime
Possible mild redness, swelling or tenderness for a few days. Most people go straight back to normal plans.
When you’ll see results
A little lift straight away; the main result builds over 8–12 weeks as collagen forms.
Before your visit
- Arrive with clean skin, no make-up
- Avoid fillers or Botox in the area for 2 weeks before
Aftercare
- Be gentle with the skin for a few days
- Use daily SPF
- Plan a top-up after 6–12 months to maintain the lift
Who should not have this treatment
We’ll suggest an alternative, or ask you to check with your doctor first, if any of these apply:
- Pregnancy
- Metal implants or fillers in the treatment area
- Open wounds or active acne in the area
- Pacemaker or electronic implants
If you have melanin-rich skin
This treatment uses heat or controlled injury to the skin, which can trigger dark patches in darker skin tones if it isn’t set up carefully. We assess your skin type, start with conservative settings and offer a patch test when there’s any doubt. Daily SPF afterwards protects your results.
This guide is general information. Your therapist confirms whether the treatment suits you after reviewing your health questionnaire at your first visit.
