What it is
A laser treatment that targets dark spots, uneven tone, enlarged pores and mild scarring.
How it works
Controlled pulses of laser light are absorbed by pigment and water in the skin. The gentle heat breaks up excess pigment and prompts the skin to renew itself and build fresh collagen.
Laser works in the highlighted layers.
Best for
- Dark marks and uneven tone
- Dull or rough texture
- Mild acne scarring
- Enlarged pores
What it feels like
Quick warm snaps, often compared to a rubber band flick. Cooling is used throughout.
Downtime
Mild redness for 1–2 days. Dark spots can look darker before they flake away over 7–10 days.
When you’ll see results
Skin looks brighter within 1–2 weeks; tone keeps improving over the course.
Before your visit
- No sunbeds, tanning or long sun exposure for 2 weeks
- Stop retinol and exfoliating acids 5 days before
- Tell us about any Roaccutane use in the past 6 months
Aftercare
- Use SPF 50 every day, even indoors near windows
- Cleanse gently and moisturise
- Don’t pick or scrub flaking spots
Who should not have this treatment
We’ll suggest an alternative, or ask you to check with your doctor first, if any of these apply:
- Pregnancy
- A current tan or sunburn
- Roaccutane in the last 6 months
- Active skin infection or cold sores in the area
If you have melanin-rich skin
This treatment uses heat or controlled injury to the skin, which can trigger dark patches in darker skin tones if it isn’t set up carefully. We assess your skin type, start with conservative settings and offer a patch test when there’s any doubt. Daily SPF afterwards protects your results.
This guide is general information. Your therapist confirms whether the treatment suits you after reviewing your health questionnaire at your first visit.
